When most children were playing and dreaming about their future, a little girl from Dehradun was already living her purpose. At just 9 years old, Milli Kaur Arora was deeply inspired by her grandfather, who taught her that “True worship is service to the voiceless.”

From that day onward, Milli began feeding stray animals around her neighborhood, giving them food, care, and love. What began as a child’s act of kindness soon became a lifelong mission

The Day That Changed Everything

One afternoon, while riding her scooter with a friend, Milli saw a tiny puppy sitting helplessly by the roadside. Before she could stop, a bike rider hit the little soul right before her eyes and sped away. That moment broke her heart — but it also built her resolve. From that day, Milli made a promise to herself I will dedicate my life to saving them.” And that’s how the Doon Animal Welfare Trust was born — not out of an idea, but out of pain, compassion, and a vow to protect life.

Today – A Shelter of Hope

Over the years, that single promise has turned into a powerful movement.Today, Milli Kaur Arora shelters more than 1,200 injured, abandoned, and sick animals under her care.
