Gauri’s Journey: From Suffering to Strength

Gauri was rescued from the streets of Najibabad, Uttar Pradesh — silently battling a massive 20 kg tumor in her udder. In this painful condition, she gave birth to a calf. But the tragedy was heartbreaking — she couldn’t feed her baby due to the unbearable pain.

A mother, unable to nurse her newborn, stood helpless.

Moved by her condition, our expert team at Doon Animal Welfare Trust rushed her in for surgery. After a challenging operation, the tumor was successfully removed.

Days later, something beautiful happened — Gauri, now pain-free, lovingly fed her calf for the first time. That one moment made all the effort worth it.

Today, Gauri is healthy, happy, and finally living the life she deserves — safe and loved.

Bhola’s Journey: From Silent Suffering to Healing Hope

On April 22, 2025, deep in the forests near Vikasnagar, Dehradun a heartbreaking sight awaited our rescue team — a lone, suffering bull, later named Bhola, stood in silence, his head covered in dried blood from a two-month-old wound that still refused to heal. Weak, frightened, and barely able to move, he had been living through unbearable pain, abandoned and unnoticed. It took hours of gentle effort, trust-building, and courage to bring him to safety. What followed were 25 long days of relentless treatment, cleaning of infected wounds, sleepless nights, and moments where survival seemed uncertain. But Bhola fought — and so did we. Day by day, with love, medicine, and nourishment, he began to heal. Today, Bhola walks with strength and serenity in our shelter, a living testimony to resilience and the healing power of care. His eyes no longer reflect pain — they reflect trust. His story is not just a rescue, it is a quiet victory of compassion over cruelty.
