Navratri is a sacred time of devotion, service, and spiritual awakening. In Hindu tradition, caring for cows — revered as Gau Mata — is considered one of the highest forms of Dharma. At Doon Animal Welfare, we are home to over 2000 rescued cows, many of whom were abandoned, injured, or left to suffer on the streets.

"This Navratri, Blessings Begin with Gau Seva – Save Our Mother Cows!"

Navratri is a time of giving, devotion, and seeking divine blessings. By contributing to Gau Seva, you are directly fulfilling your Dharma and helping abandoned, injured cows survive.

Donations are eligible for 80G tax exemptions — Donate and Save Tax

During Navratri, "Gau Seva" (caring for cows) is a significant spiritual practice, as cows are revered as "Gau Mata" (Mother Cow) and symbols of prosperity and purity in Hindu tradition, with devotees offering food, prayers, and seeking blessings for well-being. Navratri, the nine nights of devotion to Maa Durga, is a time of spiritual awakening, prayer, and service. In Sanatan Dharma, Gau Seva (cow service) is regarded as one of the highest forms of Dharma, as Gau Mata embodies purity, prosperity, and nourishment.

Donating for cows, especially during Navratri, holds profound spiritual, cultural, and religious significance in Hindu traditions. In Hindu culture, cows are revered as Kamdhenu, the divine cow that grants wishes and symbolizes abundance, wealth, and prosperity. During Navratri, a time dedicated to worshipping Goddess Durga and her various forms, donating for the welfare of cows is considered a sacred act that honors this revered animal.

Doon Animal Welfare Trust is committed to the care and protection of cows, ensuring that they receive the best treatment possible. Our organization provides shelter, food, and medical care to more than 2000 cows that live in our cowsheds. We ensure that each cow receives nutritious food and proper medical care whenever needed. Alongside the cows, we also provide a free daily bhandara for sadhus, saints, and fakkads, creating a space of compassion for all.

Cows are selfless creatures, offering us milk, manure, and other resources without asking for anything in return. Taking care of them or donating towards their protection during Navratri, a period of heightened spiritual activity, is viewed as an act of compassion and good karma. Through your generous support, you help us continue our mission to protect these gentle beings and promote the values of compassion, respect, and service.

You can donate to DOON ANIMAL WELFARE for cow protection and welfare through their "Gau Seva" initiatives, with options to feed cows, adopt a cow, or contribute to the daily maintenance of a Gaushala (cow shelter).

Doon Animal Welfare Trust is dedicated to serving 2000+ animals daily, ensuring they receive food, medical care, and protection. Our key services include:

  • 24/7 medical services for injured and sick animals
  • 10-15 new rescues daily, providing immediate treatment
  • Two fully hydraulic ambulances for emergency on-site treatment
  • Daily bhandara and seva for saints and the needy
  • Health checkup camps for animals and underprivileged communities
  • Food and clothing drives to support those in need
  • And many more charitable services for both animals and humans
