Sacred Purnima, Sacred Seva (Gau Seva)

Sacred Purnima, Sacred Seva (Gau Seva) by Doon Animal Welfare

Paush Purnima is a sacred day of spiritual purity, compassion, and selfless giving. On this auspicious occasion, the Sacred Purnima, Sacred Seva Gau Seva campaign is devoted to caring for old, injured, abandoned, and weak cows who suffer silently on streets, highways, and open lands. This initiative transforms devotion into action through service.

Many cows struggle daily with hunger, illness, injuries, and neglect. They roam in unsafe environments, consume harmful waste, and face accidents, cruelty, and abandonment. Elderly cows and nursing mothers are especially vulnerable and unable to compete for food or protect themselves. Without timely care, their condition worsens and suffering increases.

This Gau Seva is not limited to one ritual or one day. Healing requires time, consistency, and gentle care. Injured cows need repeated dressing, weak cows require nutritious feeding, and rescued cows need calm shelter to recover with dignity. Every small act of care becomes a form of prayer in action.

Serving Gau Mata on Paush Purnima is considered a highly meritorious act that purifies the heart and brings spiritual grace. Through this seva, compassion flows from intention into reality, creating protection, comfort, and healing for lives that cannot ask for help.

Through the Sacred Purnima, Sacred Seva (Gau Seva) initiative, Doon Animal Welfare seeks to restore health, dignity, and safety to cows in distress. This sacred offering becomes a bridge between devotion and duty, where service becomes worship and kindness becomes the truest prayer.
