Help to Save Stray Dogs, Donate water bowls on this harsh summer

Save Dogs

Summer in Dehradun can be very harsh, especially for stray animals. While we find shelter under fans and coolers, stray dogs and other animals are left to suffer under the hot sun. With temperatures touching 35°C, and this month it will go up to 45°C to 49°C. It becomes nearly impossible for them to find clean drinking water or shade to rest. This extreme weather is not just painful—it can be deadly.

Stray dogs do not have a voice. They cannot tell us how thirsty they are or how much they are struggling in this heat. But we can see it. We can see them walking slowly, lying under trees, searching near drains, licking wet patches on roads—just for a drop of water. This summer, we can choose to not look away. This summer, we can choose to help.

1. Save Dogs This Summer

Save dogs -A

Dehradun is home to thousands of stray dogs. Many of them live in colonies, streets, markets, and near highways. In winters and rainy seasons, survival is tough, but summer brings the biggest danger and dehydration. Without regular access to water, dogs become weak, fall sick, and many even die. The streets are hot, the air is dry, and there are very few natural water sources left. Ponds and puddles dry up, and even the dirty water in drains cannot be trusted.

When dogs drink from such polluted places, they suffer from infections, stomach issues, and sometimes even poisoning. It’s heartbreaking to think that something as simple as clean water is missing from their lives. But this is where you can help.

2. Donate Water Bowls – A Simple Act That Saves Lives

The Doon Animal Welfare Foundation is doing important work in Dehradun. They are placing strong stone water bowls across the city. These bowls are filled daily with clean water so that stray dogs, cats, cows, and birds can stay hydrated. It may seem like a small thing, but one water bowl can save the lives of many animals every single day.

Your donation can help provide more water bowls in busy and dry areas. These bowls are placed near markets, schools, temples, colonies, and other areas where animals roam. Along with water, the foundation also provides nutritious dry food that doesn’t spoil in the heat.

Even a small donation can help buy a bowl, pay for water supply, or provide food. Every drop counts. Every rupee helps.

3. Be Part of a Kind Mission

By supporting the Doon Animal Welfare Foundation, you become part of a kind and honest mission. The foundation works openly and ensures all funds are used for the well-being of stray animals. Their team is on the streets every day—checking water bowls, refilling them, feeding animals, and offering medical help when needed.

But they cannot do it alone. They need your support. They need your trust. And most importantly, the animals need your kindness.

4. Support us to Save Dogs

You don’t need to be on the streets to help. You can directly donate from your home. By giving even a small amount, you can:

  • Sponsor a water bowl
  • Pay for daily refilling of clean water
  • Support the feeding of dry, safe food

When you donate, you are not just giving money—you are giving life. You are helping a thirsty dog find relief. You are helping a starving puppy find food. You are protecting a weak animal from death.

5. Let’s Make This Summer Different

We cannot control the heat, but we can control how we respond to it. Let this summer be the season of compassion. Let it be the time when Dehradun came together for its voiceless animals. Let it be the summer when you made a real difference.
