Cow Rescue Service in India

Cow Rescue Service in India

Cow Rescue

In India, cows are seen not just as animals, but as sacred beings. Yet every day, many of these gentle souls are left to suffer in silence. Injured in road accidents, abandoned due to illness or old age, or abused by heartless humans, their stories are full of pain and loneliness. But there is hope. Doon Animal Welfare Trust is working day and night to rescue, treat, and protect these voiceless beings.

1. Why Cow Rescue is Important

Across cities and villages, many cows roam the streets in search of food, shelter, or help. Often, they meet with accidents or fall sick due to eating plastic or drinking dirty water. Some are too weak to stand. Others are badly injured and unable to move.

These cows need urgent help — not later, but right now. Without quick treatment, their condition becomes worse, and many don’t survive. But when someone steps in to help, their lives can change completely.

We provide:

  • Emergency cow rescue
  • Medical treatment
  • Nutritious food
  • Safe shelter

With our team and ambulance services, we reach out to every call for help. Whether a cow is lying injured on a busy road or suffering quietly in a corner, we make sure help reaches them.

2. The Painful Reality

Here are some common reasons why cows end up needing rescue:

  • Road Accidents: Speeding vehicles hit cows, often leaving them with broken bones or internal injuries.
  • Abandonment: Old or sick cows are left by owners who don’t want to care for them anymore.
  • Starvation: Many cows survive by eating garbage, plastic, and rotten food.
  • Illness and Infection: Wounds, infections, and diseases go untreated for weeks.
  • Cruelty: Sadly, some cows face abuse — beaten, tied without food, or used for illegal trade.

These sacred beings suffer quietly. But your help can give them the life they deserve.

3. A Real Story of Nandi

Nandi was a small, happy calf. One day, a truck ran over him and broke his legs. He was lying in pain by the roadside, crying for help. People walked past, but no one stopped. When our rescue team reached him, he was weak and full of wounds. We saved him, but his legs could not be repaired. Even today, Nandi tries to walk. He wants to live, to feel love, and to run again someday.

Your support gives calves like Nandi another chance.

4. What Your Donation Can Do

Every rupee can help save a life. Here’s how:

  • ₹500: Basic medicine and dressing for wounds
  • ₹1000: Full treatment for one cow
  • ₹5000: Emergency care including ambulance and surgery
  • ₹10,000 or more: Support complete recovery for one critical cow

With your help, we can expand cow rescue service for more in need, treat more wounds, and build a better shelter for them.

You can also support us by:

  • Sharing about our mission
  • Volunteering at our center
  • Sponsoring food for the cows
  • Donating on special days like birthdays, Anniversary, Marriage or festivals

5. Our Mission

We are located on Shimla Bypass Road, Dehradun. Our team has helped thousands of cows, dogs, horses, cats, rabbits, etc since 9 years. Every day, we receive 2-3 calls for emergency rescues. Many cows are in serious conditions like broken legs, deep wounds, or severe illness. We never say no. No matter how late it is or how far the case is, we rush to help.

Our gaushala is home to 1700+ cows. They get good food, medical care, and a safe space to rest and heal. We also look after paralyzed cows and blind cows with special attention.

6. Be Their Guardian

In Hindu belief, Gau Seva is one of the purest forms of service. Helping a suffering cow is not just a kind act , it is a step toward moksha. Let us not turn away from their pain. Let us come forward and give them a life of peace and love.
